The Polar Dress is a fashion concept which uses repetitive patterns of a photographic image captured using a Polaroid film camera. The patterns are then formatted and printed on pure silk fabric material. The Polar Dress predominantly uses this fabric technique, and showcases the correlation that exists between pattern and fabric in creating a design that elegantly drapes and flows with every movement. The Halterneck backless style dress was specially made to illustrate the use of this technique using the Hedgerow pattern as an example (below), and opens the door for more interesting combinations of dress styles using this pattern technique for the future.
